I know. It’s been way too long. Seems as though the month of June went by in a flash. Guess I just had a bit of a slump in blogging, writing and even in photographing. I was a little shocked to see my photo numbers really dwindle for the months of April, May and June. I don’t really have an answer for it. Just happened. But I can tell you that this will not last. July is promising good things. Very good things. More about that later in the post.
The Captain is progressing very well. He went back to work and I think he was ready. I was ready too! Most of June was spent going to physical therapy, keeping Cupcake Girl, swinging, a little swimming, shopping, cleaning and finally, packing.
Packing? Yes! Packing! We, as in all of us, are off to the tropical paradise called Maui. I an eager to see the island as we make our decent. I can’t wait to breathe in that salty air mixed with fragrant hibiscus flowers. I want to see a rainbow or two and hear the rustling of palm fronds. I want to hear the ooo’s and aaa’s from our group as they see our tropical home. I can’t wait to swim in that 96 foot long free-form pool. I long to just sit and look out at the ocean as the sun sets and watch in the early morning hours as it rises. I know I’ve watched this video 50+ times (more recently about 10 minutes ago). I have dreamed, planned, and dreamed some more about this special week. It’s not our first trip, but it is the first time our little blended family will ALL be together. This will include one small one (almost 5) and one on the way (due in the fall). I want to be in that room and see their faces as they walk into our little piece of paradise. I am so excited! Side note: I found and rented from the folks at Exotic Estates International. They are awesome!
This is perhaps one of my favorite pictures of all. This is atop Haleakala in Haleakala National Park. As the website says, it is More Than Just A Moment! Yes it is.
Our adventure awaits! I will not neglect you my bloggie buddies. I promise!
