A Little Birthday Post
Okay. So what did I do? What did I get? First of all I got a new camera. I am not the proud owner of a Nikon D90. It is a bit different from my Nikon D40x and it is always a bit trying as you get use to a new camera, but I already know I am going to benefit greatly from this gift. Thank you my gift-givers! The birth-DAY included early lunch at the Sweet Gipsy Bakeshop and Cafe which is just down the street from our house, then some practice time with the new camera and a dinner cruise on the Southern Belle Riverboat. It was a beautiful evening to enjoy cruising on the water. Here are some pictures from the day!
This was made by my fabulous mother-in-law, Sally. I was so excited to open this a few days ago!! I am going to hang it above the window in our spare bedroom (we call it the green room). Thank you Sally!!!! I LOVE IT!
And here are a few random practice pictures from the day (I was practicing):
And of course, just because she is so dang cute, here are some pictures from a hike we took earlier this week.

A Little of This and A Little Of That
I know, it has been TOO long since my last post. It’s not that I have had time or that I don’t have anything to say……I just haven’t put pen to paper fingers to keyboard. Therefore, as the title suggests, there will be a little of this and a little of that.
Back on May 10, it was a glorious day in our little household. My sweet husband’s birthday! Mady and I spent part of the day at his office. She actually sang Happy Birthday to him (in a quiet sort of way).
His gift was something he really, really wanted and guess who else loves it? Thanks Apple!
Later in the week we went to the Lookout’s baseball game. Mady was in heaven with her GrandBob, Lulu, Nana and Aunt Bev. Oh what a great time we had!
This week we made a visit to Barnes and Noble and got in on a little story time, lunch at Abuelo’s, a visit to Guitar Center (this can be dangerous for those who know my spouse) and finally a short visit to the park on the river. The munchkin of the group had a GREAT time at all four places!
Blue Herons are just fabulous!
Playing in the water fountain is just plain FUN!
Throwing a stick in the air makes you giggle!
Letting Lulu take “creative” pictures can be annoying (thank you Mady).
And finally, a little picture and then the rest of the story……..
Mady: Lulu, make me a dress.
Lulu: Ok.
Then Traci (Mady’ mom/my daughter) told her to go look at herself in the mirror. Upon returning….
Mady: (pointing at Lulu) You be God and I’ll be Jesus!
I just love you Mady!
